Paul Hamre, owner of UBuildIt–Spokane, is a third generation contractor who earned a BA degree from the University of North Dakota before moving to Spokane in 1972 to begin his career as a general contractor. After 27 successful years engaged in residential, commercial, and public works construction, Paul made the transition from contractor to consultant as one of the early UBuildIt franchise owners in 1999. “Since our opening, we have had the honor of assisting scores of owner-builders realize their dream of building their own home, and most all of them had no previous construction experience. That is the genius of the UBuildIt System….no experience required!”
Pete Hamre, owner of UBuildIt–Spokane and Construction Consultant, is an Annapolis graduate and retired naval aviator. In 1980, Pete moved to Spokane to join Paul in general contracting where he proved to have exceptional skills in managing multiple projects and coordinating the requisite field resources. During even the most difficult stretches of their construction project, our clients appreciate the exceptional guidance they get from such a seasoned “field general” as Pete. “All the subcontractors respect Pete”, extolled one happy client, “he knows how to keep things on an even keel when the work gets tough. Charlie Guthrie, Planning Consultant. Ms. Guthrie has over 20 years of experience in office and field project management. Charlie grew up in Spokane and through her grandfather and father-in-law learned the intricacies of custom home construction, interior wood finishing and cabinet making. The opportunity to act as the owner-builder of her own home allowed Charlie to understand both the frustration and heartwarming sense of accomplishment “building your own home” can bring.
